Twins Trade With Braves To Keep Diamond

The Twins traded right-handed pitching prospect Billy Bullock to the Braves on Monday, allowing them to retain Rule 5 draft choice Scott Diamond. Minnesota plucked the left-handed Diamond out of Atlanta's system in December. He allowed one earned run on six hits in six innings of work during spring training, but missed two weeks with a blister on his left thumb.

Yankees Send Mitre To Brewers For Dickerson

The Yankees today acquired outfielder Chris Dickerson from the Brewers in exchange for right-handed pitcher Sergio Mitre. Dickerson, 28, has appeared in 173 career games over three seasons with Cincinnati (2008-10) and Milwaukee (2010), compiling a .267 career batting average with eight home runs and 35 RBI. A left-handed batter and thrower, Dickerson has appeared at all three outfield positions during the course of his career. In 2010, he batted .206 (20-for-97) with no home runs and five RBI in 45 combined games at the Major League level. He played 20 games with Cincinnati before being traded to Milwaukee on August 9 for outfielder Jim Edmonds. . Mitre, 30, was 0-3 with one save and a 3.33 ERA (54.0IP, 20ER) in 27 appearances (including three starts) with the Yankees in 2010. Signed by the Yankees as a free agent on November 16, 2008, Mitre went 3-6 with a 5.03 ERA (105.2IP, 59ER) in 39 games (including 12 starts) over two seasons with the club.

Indians Trade Laffey To Mariners

The Indians have traded left-hander Aaron Laffey to the Mariners for minor league infielder Matt Lawson. Laffey split time between Cleveland and Triple-A Columbus last season, and he bounced back and forth between the rotation and bullpen.
